Riverbend Park Opening, Launceston, Tasmania

On August the 17th 2019, Riverbend Park Officially opened to the public. The park has been two years in the making and it was fantastic to see it come to fruition.

Local residents will know that the location of the park was once an industrial precinct for wool sheds, Boral concreting and lots of swampy land. The transformation has been amazing.

The project was funded by the City of Launceston and the State and Federal Governments.

Here is a video of the park taking shape:

Riverbend has one of Kompan’s giant Skywalks installed and is the prominent feature of the new park standing at 12 metres high.  The skywalk is aimed at children aged 8 years and over.  If your child can’t climb up the skywalk, then it is not designed for them!

The orientation of the slides is Southern facing so it doesn’t get too hot in summer.  There are also various other pieces of Kompan equipment spread around the park.
